So I followed Colins rule again. Simplify, then add lightness.
The factory unit did none of these.. It had to go.
The choice- Buy a ready made universal harness or make my own. At over $400 for the ready made I chose make my own.
The design simple. I drew a rectangle and added everything the car would have at the end. I then connected the senders and gauges. The switched power was added next with relevant earths. Lights were added and connected to the switches. Fuel pumps , wipers , starter , fans , water pump and alternator wires were drawn in. Finally the fuse box was drawn.
The result a straight forward harness that is lighter and a fuse box in a more convenient location.
